I. Metshin: «Our goal is to teach children to find their way in life»

In the new school year, over 1,000 children in Kazan will begin learning working professions

Since September 1, over a thousand school students will start learning working professions as part of a large-scale program aimed at providing early career guidance. Irek Rizvanov, the head of the Kazan Education Department, announced this at the August teachers' conference.

Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, stressed the significance of this initiative: «The level of involvement of children in the world of professional opportunities depends on whether they can consciously answer important questions by the time they graduate: who they want to become, where they want to work, and how they want to realize their potential.»

The program has already demonstrated its effectiveness: last school year, 64 students completed their studies successfully and received working skills. This year, another 74 schoolchildren will receive qualifications, and more than a thousand students will begin their professional training starting September 1.

Special attention is paid to several key areas. For instance, 11 schools in the aerospace sector are implementing pre-professional programs as part of the “Gagarin Country” project.

Additionally, the pedagogical direction is being strengthened through the «New Pedagogical Class» project, which helps to create a community of future teachers. Currently, there are 54 of these classes, and their number is expected to increase in the future.
