The municipal government institution Prefecture «Old Town» of the Executive Committee of Kazan is engaged in the restoration and preservation of historical architectural monuments and landscaping of the territory of the Old Tatar settlement. Among other things, one of the priorities of the Prefecture is to develop the tourist attractiveness of this part of the city.
There are 97 cultural heritage sites in the Prefecture, 7 of which are of federal importance.
